JEDI Moonshot Day #8:
EUROPE’S SPUTNIK MOMENT
JEDI brought together key players of the European space ecosystem during JEDI MoonshotDay #8 at the Paris Air Show – technology corporates, leaders of deeptech startups, and scientists.
JEDI is the initiative for disruptive innovation to bring Europe on par with the USA and China in breakthrough technologies, powered by the European deeptech ecosystem. A major endeavor in an era increasingly characterized by technology acceleration and winner-takes-all.
The organizer of the Paris Air Show graciously hosted our workshop at the GIFAS International Chalet.
In his keynote address, General Michel Friedling, French Space Commander, underlined how digitalized Space has become, and the impact this has on military operations, communications and information capture. General Friedling emphasized the need to lead in areas like Artificial Intelligence, the need for experimentation, and finally to be able to radically shorten the development processes – all vital steps to ensure a secure future.
4 companies & startups pitched their insights on technology frontiers:
• LiFi – by Serge Berenger, CTO of Latécoère
• AI for Information Superiority – by Arnaud Guerin, CEO of Earthcube
• Reusable Microlaunchers – by Adria Argemi, CEO of Pangea Aerospace
• Miniature Satellites – by Raycho Raychev, CEO of Endurosat
JEDI had the honor to have French Secretary of State Agnès Pannier-Runacher closing with a video address, underlying the need to stay ahead of the technological race, and for an industrial policy in Europe.
